Metal Braces
This is the most traditional form of braces and all ages of our patients can wear them. The most common treatment, metal braces are typically the least expensive and are very useful at correcting overcrowded teeth. For fun, patients can choose different color bands to be used. With traditional braces, the maintenance is fairly easy which is why they are a good choice for teens and young adults.
Invisalign®
Invisalign® straightens your teeth using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. They gradually and gently shift your teeth into place. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten.
Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces serve the same purpose as traditional metal braces, are the same size and shape. However, instead of metal brackets and wires, they feature clear brackets that blend in better with teeth. These composite brackets also come in varying shades to ideally match your natural teeth.
If you’re an adult and need braces, ceramic braces are an excellent option.
Clear Aligners
Insignia custom braces are braces that are specially fabricated for your teeth. These make the movements of your teeth more precise and detailed. Dr. Farnia and Dr. Cruz have lots of cases treating with customized braces. Patients love the results and we are happy to show you how we can improve your smile at Cedar Park, Round Rock and Austin locations.
TMJ Disorder
Many believe stress or a busy lifestyle is to blame but do not realize that these symptoms are often related to their jaw muscles and their jaw joint known as the temporomandibular joint or TMJ. Your bite can be a factor in many types of pain or functional problems because of the inter-relationship of the overall muscle and skeletal system. Here in Sonrisas Dental Center, we have extensive experience performing complex joint and combined jaw surgeries. This type of experience translates into a better experience and improved outcomes for our patients.
Sleep Apnea
Worn only during sleep, an oral appliance fits like a sports mouth guard or an orthodontic retainer. It supports the jaw in a forward position to help maintain an open upper airway.
Research shows that oral appliance therapy is an effective treatment option for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
Oral Appliance Therapy
Oral appliance therapy is an effective treatment option for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). A custom-fit oral sleep appliance can improve your sleep, restore your alertness and revitalize your health.

Periodontics
Periodontal Disease
Periodontal disease is a gum infection that is ongoing. It affects, not only the gums, but the jawbone as well and can lead to tooth loss, as well as overall systemic issues. Typically the result of poor brushing and flossing habits, periodontal disease occurs after plaque has built up and hardened.
Treating periodontal disease quickly is of the utmost importance. Scheduling regular check-ups and cleanings and practicing good, daily oral hygiene habits can keep one from suffering from periodontal disease and/or can help halt the progression of periodontal disease.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are a procedure available at Sonrisas Orthodontics and Periodontics. Dental implants are metal posts or frames that are surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath your gums. Once in place, they allow your dentist to mount replacement teeth onto them. Dental implants are the ideal solution for replacing one or more missing teeth. Here at Sonrisas Orthodontics and Periodontics, we can help you get that confident smile back once again. Dr. Cruz can offer you a permanent and aesthetic tooth replacement that will make you feel like you have your own tooth back again and complete your smile.
Periodontal Plastic Surgery
Periodontal plastic surgery is a specialized treatment done by our in-house periodontist Dr. Cruz. He evaluates the periodontal health of your teeth and offers a different type of treatments from laser gingivectomy after braces, gingival graft to cover the recession on your teeth and reshaping your gum lines. Call us and make your free initial consultation with us to discuss the best options for you.
Tooth Extractions
Tooth extraction, also known as tooth removal, is a procedure available at our dental clinic in Sonrisas Orthodontics and Periodontics. When a tooth has suffered significant damage, or is at risk of damaging other teeth or your gums, and can’t be fixed with restorative treatment, it may need to be extracted.
Wisdom Tooth Extraction
Your back molars, also known as wisdom teeth, are the last adult teeth to emerge in your mouth. They come in on the top and bottom of both sides, usually between the ages of 17 and 21. Many people don’t have enough room in their jaws to accommodate wisdom teeth without their other teeth shifting. This can lead to a variety of problems.
If this happens to you, your dentist will likely recommend surgery to remove them. Wisdom teeth removal is very common, and recovery can take up to a week, depending on your specific case.
Dental Emergencies
Our dental clinic understands that dental emergencies can occur at the most unexpected times. We are able to provide emergency dental services, please contact us to make an appointment.
General Dentistry
Cosmetic Dentistry
With today’s advancements in cosmetic dentistry, there is no reason you can’t have the smile you always wanted. We offer cosmetic dental treatments designed to have dramatic, long-lasting effects on your smile.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made pieces of tooth-like material that can be used to change the appearance of your teeth.
Each veneer is custom-crafted and made professionally to fit the appearance of your mouth, so with your help, we will make a mold and impression of your teeth and discuss with you how many veneers will be needed to reach the goal you have for your smile.
Crowns
Crowns are one of the greatest repair tools for problematic teeth. Dental crowns are used to restore and improve the function, strength, and even shape/appearance of a tooth. If a tooth is broken or has had to have a procedure such as a root canal, a dental crown can be used to bring that tooth back into service.
Full Mouth Restorative Dentistry
It involves teeth restoration, bite restoration, and muscle restoration so that you’d end up with a natural-looking smile, a youthful-feeling condition, and great cosmetic improvements to your face and jaw shape, among other multiple benefits.
Whitening
Coffee, tea, and the foods you eat are just a few of the most common causes of stained and discolored teeth. Some medications, tobacco use, and even just the natural aging process can take a toll on the brightness of your teeth. While stained teeth are generally a cosmetic issue, they can hurt your self-confidence and reduce your quality of life. If you find yourself embarrassed by your smile, hiding your smile from others, or feel that your discolored teeth are holding you back, we can help.
Teeth whitening is one of our most popular cosmetic dentistry services. Professional teeth whitening is acknowledged as a simple way to increase the brilliance of your smile and enhance the natural beauty of your teeth. People often feel those with whiter teeth are more confident, happy, and healthy.
Dentures
Dentures are a tooth replacement option for patients who are missing all or many of their teeth. Full dentures are used to replace all of the teeth in the upper or lower jaw, and partial dentures are used when the patient still has some of their natural teeth.
Conventional dentures fit directly over the gums. Another option is implant-supported dentures, which attach to several metal posts that have been implanted in your jaw bone. Both types of dentures are removed and cleaned each night, and then placed back into your mouth the following morning.
